April 1796 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Mr. O]LDMAN Edenhall ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nunnery April 15th. 1796 Sir This morning my Servant John LOWE inform’d me that the last time he saw Mr. RICHARDSON and offer’d him the three Guineas which I left with him for the purpose of paying him, He said he would not take it, but was willing to take whatever you said was reasonable, the latter part of which He forgot to tell me. I therefore immediately wrote a Note to him, saying I was perfectly willing to pay him whatever you said was reasonable, & that the sooner it was settled the better, He has return’d a verbal answer by John that he was willing to abide by your decision, & wished to have it done immediately. I enclose you his Bill & the Map and shall be much obliged to you if you will tell me in writing what you fix on to be paid him and I shall send it to him this on Saturday evening – I am sorry to give you so much trouble and hope you will excuse it – I am Sir Your most Obedt. Servt. Mrs. BAMBER desires her [signed] Richd. BAMBER Comps. to you & Mrs. OLDMAN ~
