1743 11 24 : Letter from Sir Philip to his agent at Edenhall
24 Nov 1743. LETTER FROM SIR PHILIP TO HIS AGENT AT EDENHALL. Bundle 63, Doc 14. 30 cm x 18.5 cm, folded in half to make four pages. Third page blank. Remains of a red seal and holes where it was torn open. Two round stamps on outside, one for the date and the other only partially legible. Sir Philip got free postage of letters because he was an MP. Sr. Phil: MUSGRAVE 24. Mr. CROWLE seems pleas’d with his Scotch Cows, He talks of letting ‘em run wild for 2 or 3 years before he eats them. My Brother Hans has sent me an Explanation of his Draught of 80£ which He says he meant to take in part of the 100£ I owe him per Note, however I would have you advance his demand & we shall settle the rest hereafter. I shoud be glad if you could Send me a Bill of 80£ or 100£ as soon as you conveniently can. I have rec~d the Cash from Thos. MEAD for ye last. You have done very well to pay the 10s. Charity money to the widow ROBINSON. Pray do you find the new Ferrets to your liking. You may take one of the Double Doors off of the yellow Bedchamber, leaving both on the Side ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ next to the Small Court where the Cistern is. I do not hear much news, only it seems doubtful whether we Are to have the Hanoverians any more, at least it is thought they will not Serve with our Troops. I am yrs &c.
