1790 03 01 : Letter with news from Hartley
01 Mar 1790. LETTER WITH NEWS FROM HARTLEY. Bundle 62, Doc 27. 32 cm x 20.5 cm, folded in half to make four pages. The two middle pages are blank. ROBINSON with 1£ – 17s – 4d –– ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hartley 1th. March 1790 Dr. Sir after I had sent your Letter to Appleby I recd. your’s with a Plough which you was so kind as pay for –– Jno. ROBINSON Plumpton being here to day I have sent you 1£ – 17s – 4d which you had payed by ye rect. ––––––– we have ye finest wether at ye Season of ye year I ever Remembered –––––––––– it is ye dearest Plough I ever had no Coulter nor sheckel, two Socks with it & ye Carrier to Brough charged 3s – 10d for it & says he paid 10d at Penrith for it, if he charge so for ye Lead duty it will not do theire must be a Bargin with him at so much for Fodder my kind Compliments to Mrs. OLDMAN & hopes you are both well as we are at present I hope to get you as much Duty out of Riggs this year I am Sir Your’s &c as will Divide Langrigg with a wall [signed] Jno.
