1777 02 07 : Solicitor's letter about a lawyer's bill

07 Feb 1777. SOLICITOR’S LETTER ABOUT A LAWYER’S BILL. Bundle 62, Doc 15. 38 cm x 24.5 cm, folded in half to make four pages. Second and fourth page are blank. Very dirty on the outside, one crease. Red seal with a corresponding hole where it was torn open, but the missing writing can be read on the torn out piece of paper still attached to the seal. Febry. 1777 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mr. DOBSON at Edenhall ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear Sir / I return you Mr. MORGAN’s Bill with a Copy thereof which will shew the seperate Charge that will ought to fall upon Sir Philip MUSGRAVE owing to the Amendment of the Declaration, and the Charge that ought to fall upon GREEN owing to his bringing an Action which he was forced to drop by Election. All the other parts of the Bill will be for the Consideration of the Arbitrators – I suppose Mr. MORGAN’s Bill is very proper upon Sir Philip But Costs are a Science amongst the Agents in London – I am Dear Sir / Carlisle 7th. } Your most h~ble Servt.
