03 Dec 1789. LETTER WITH NEWS FROM HARTLEY. Bundle 61, Doc 2. 31.5 cm x 20.5 cm, folded in half to make four pages. The two middle pages are blank. Red wax seal with a piece of paper torn out where the seal was broken (no loss of writing). John DAWSON 3d. LITTLE is a Landlord at Kings Mebrain & gets Ale of Josh: DAVIS & who recommends him as an honest Industrous Man, he wants to take ye Corn Tythe of that Township if it be at Liberty to have an offer of it –––– Thos. HAMELTON has not finished yet he promised. yesterday to come to day & finish of, then I will get ye Bills by Saturday & send them I have kept Thos. FOTHERGILLs fortnight thinking of sending them alltogether ––––– we have smelted of 36 piggs Lead from Riggs & have little more to smelt, & theay are dressing up for smelting at Birkit when done will give you Acct. –––– I am in no good spirits as yet ye low sump do not turn out yet as expected I am Dr. Sir Yours &c [signed] Ino.
