24 Jul 1790. LETTER WITH NEWS FROM KIRKBY STEPHEN. Bundle 61, Doc 47. 21 cm x 17 cm. Red seal with corresponding hole where it was torn open. John RAILTON 24th. July 1790 ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To Mr. OLDMAN at Edenhall ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kirkby Stephen July 24th. 1790. Sir / I have Just Recd. yours with one for Thos. LADLY & one for Thos. HAMILTON which I will get forward tomorrow, I have maid Some Inquiry about James HIGHMOUR Estate at Fletam it was let in two Farms the one at Fortey pound a year the other at Sixty guines or at Sixtey five pound a year this is the best Information that I have got I had it from a Relation of mine that lives at Great Musgrave, and I will aske Thos. ATKINSON more about it the first opertunity and shall let you know what he sais about it, we have very wet wether little or no hay got yet, if I get any bils in before you cume up to Bleatarn I shall send them to Robt. SCOTTs, I sent you the account of the weight of Birket Lead that was last weight of, I am getting the Bark Chopt at the Heaning house now I was there yesterday I am to go to measuer it on Friday next the Man will have it finish’d again that Day, I am Sir your Most obedt.
