21 May 1787. LETTER FROM HARTLEY ABOUT LAND PURCHASES. Bundle 60, Doc 23. 21 cm x 16.5 cm. Red seal with corresponding hole where it was torn open (no loss of writing) and one large tear. John DAWSON 21. May 1787 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mr. DOBSON Edenhall by Robt. CASTLEY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hartley 21th May 1787 Dear Sir Mr. Robt. WALLER London purchased Mr. Thos. MUNKHOUSE late THORNTON’s House & Crofts & Sand flat some of it under Lord Lonsdale & some under Earl Thannet, the Holme about 10 or 12 Acre’s more or Less Mr. MUNKHOUSE has not Sold which is under you Ino. WILKINSON Hartley purchased In EBDALE Odmerside Close’s late NELSON’s, Ricd. BLENCARN Dead I do not know his Heir I think he is in Wales Ino. HARKER has Morgage on it, Mr. Ino. WRIGHT purchased Wm. WHARTON field called Longe Moore late Dr. Ino. WHARTONs. I do not know whether the Deed will come into Court this year or not, I know of no more as yet ––––– The Smelt Mill Wheel is grown much out of Repair it wants 3 Hoffes altogether it will be hard work to get this Mettal smelted, it shu’d have a shed over it, standing Idle hurts it more than working I am Sir Your’s &cc [signed] Ino.
