12 Aug 1808. PROPERTY TAX ACCOUNT & RECEIPT FOR BLACKHALL ETC. Bundle 64, Docs 60 and 61. Doc 61 was wrapped inside Doc 60 and both refer to property tax paid by Henry FAIRBAIRN (£31 5s. in Doc 60 and £5 3s. in Doc 61) for MUSGRAVE properties in St. Cuthbert’s parish, Carlisle. The sum total (£36 8s.) is listed in the property tax account in Doc 51. Bundle 64, Doc 60. 18.5 cm x 11. 5 cm. Undated except for mention of the end of the tax year on 05 Apr 1808. I hereby Certify That the Representatives of the late James FAIRBAIRN were Assessed in the Townships of Blackhall Low, Upperby & Botchergate for Lands & Tythes in the said Townships belonging The late Sir J: C: MUSGRAVE the Sum of £312..10, for the Year 1807, ending 5th. April 1808 and that the Duty of 2s/. in the Pound was Paid upon that Sum [signed] Thos: BOUSTEAD Clerk to the Commissioners of the Tax upon Property for Cumberland Ward ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bundle 64, Doc 61. 16 cm x 5 cm. August 12th. 1808 Placed to the acct. of the Guardians of Sir Philip MUSGRAVE Bart. five pounds & three shillings being the property tax for the tythes of St. Cuthberts Carlisle & the Lords rents of Blackhall, which was allowed to Henry FAIRBAIRN this day by me [signed] Joseph BRISCO
